Nkem Owoh (Popularly known as Osuofia)

Nkem Owoh is an award-winning Nigerian actor that has been starring in TV series and films since 1987, his biography is full of interesting details. Many people will immediately remember him as Osuofia, his character in the Nollywood film that launched him to global stardom. He is a Super Star and one of the biggest Actors on the African Continent.

However, talking about his exploits in the film industry will not do justice to the biography of Nkem Owoh. This is because he went beyond acting and made his name with appealing and fun music in the music industry as well. He studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering from both the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and Institute of Management Technology (IMT).

Owoh had his first major break in acting when he landed a role in the screen adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. The 1987 series had fifty episodes each spanning about 50 minutes and was aired on the Nigerian Television Authority. As Nollywood picked pace, he landed a supporting role in both Ukwa 1 and 2 in 1995 alongside other big names such as Sam Loco and Patience Ozokwor (Mama G).

He is credited with Hundreds of Films and TV Productions. His biggest act so far is Osuofia in London which received worldwide acclaim in 2003. He is a popular face on adverts and commercials for very large corporate organizations in Nigeria and some of the biggest brands in Africa and the world.
